Visit to Abbur

Abbur is on Bangalore-Mysore road after Chennapattana, mainly known for Shree Brahmanya Teerthara matha (muth, mutt) which comes under Shree Kundapura Vyasaraja matha. Brahmanya teertharu was gurugalu of Shree Vyasarajaru. Shree ShreePadarajaru was vidya gurugalu where as Shree Brahmanya Teertharu was one who had done pattabhisheka to Shree Chandrikacharyaru. Abbur is around 65 kms from Bangalore city. If we travel by own vehicle, we can reach within an hour without any stop, depending on traffic. It's better to start early to avoid traffic on Mysore road. We started from Bangalore around 8.30 am. Reached Abbur around 10. Its better to be present in Math by 10.30 or before, so that if we wish we can offer any Sevegalu. After darshan and prasad in Abbur, we visited Purushottama Guhe (Cave), where Shree Purushottama Teertharu observed Tapasya, disappeared, and is believed to be still present in the cave.
